A wet Saturday afforded us time to visit the American Airlines CR Smith museum. Recently refurbished, the museum is located on the expanding American Airlines campus adjacent to DFW and features an extensive collection of memorabilia. It also includes an interactive airline operations simulation (interesting for some readers....) and a cockpit section of a Mad Dog (MD82) with flashing lights and audible cues.

Late afternoon showers dampened our drive out and about exploring the outskirts of Dallas but the phone braved the rain we experienced visiting Fort Worth Meacham International to catch the visiting military aircraft.
Time did not allow a visit to the Southwest Airlines Frontier of Flight Museum at Dallas Love Field. So just a couple of quick snaps of civilians outside the building.
Exploring the leafy suburbs to the northwest of Dallas Fort Worth International we came across this sobering monument commemorating the dreadful events of 9/11.
