Whenuapai hosted a fleeting visit by United States Navy Boeing C40A Clipper 168980 from Fleet Logistics Support Squadron VR-61. The Atusgi, Japan based Boeing spent a couple of hours on the ground 27 February arriving from and returning to Nadi and continued to Guam/Andersen 28 February.
This example was the 5000th Boeing 737 delivered and features blended winglets.
